- 2 medium-sized ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your 9×9 inch baking pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl.
- Mix in the sugars and melted butter.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture gently.
- Optional: If using chocolate chips, fold them into the batter now.
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For best results, use overripe bananas and avoid overmixing the batter. These brownies can also be made in an air fryer.
