Description

A delicious and indulgent breakfast casserole featuring layers of cream cheese, blueberries, and French toast.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread, cubed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the cubed French bread.
  3. Spread the softened cream cheese over the bread cubes.
  4. Sprinkle half of the blueberries on top of the cream cheese.
  5. Layer the remaining bread cubes over the blueberries.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread layers.
  8. Top with the remaining blueberries.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter casserole, add more maple syrup to the egg mixture.
  • Can be prepared the night before and refrigerated before baking.
  • Serve with additional maple syrup or whipped cream if desired.
