Description

A simple and delicious recipe for crafting French dip sandwiches using a crockpot, perfect for a hearty meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Provolone cheese, optional

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
  2. Add sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the roast.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Sprinkle dried thyme, salt, and pepper over the mixture.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  6. Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and mix it with the juices.
  7. Serve the shredded beef on hoagie rolls, topped with provolone cheese if desired.
  8. Use the remaining broth as a dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sear the beef roast in a skillet before adding it to the crockpot.
  • Feel free to add sliced bell peppers or mushrooms for additional toppings.
