Description

A quick and satisfying lunch featuring creamy avocado on toasted bread, brightened with lime and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 4 slices of whole grain or sourdough bread
  • 1 lime or lemon, juiced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Red pepper flakes, to taste
  • Optional toppings: poached egg, cherry tomatoes, or radishes

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Prepare the avocados by slicing them in half, removing the pit, and mashing the flesh in a bowl with lime juice and salt.
  3. Assemble the toast by generously spreading the avocado mixture over each slice of bread.
  4. Top with red pepper flakes and any optional toppings you desire.

Notes

To prevent browning, store unused avocado with lime juice or keep the pit in the unused half.
