Description

Delight in the crunch of perfectly cooked crispy hash browns, a comforting staple for any breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Optional: Onion or garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Peel and grate the potatoes using a box grater or food processor.
  2. Rinse the grated potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch.
  3. Drain the potatoes thoroughly.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the drained potatoes in an even layer to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  6. Cook until the bottom is golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Flip the hash browns using a spatula and cook the other side until crispy, another 5-7 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with desired toppings.

Notes

For best results, ensure grated potatoes are dry before cooking to achieve maximum crispiness.
