Description

Experience the delightful crunch of crispy sticky tofu coated in a sweet and savory glaze that elevates any meal.


Ingredients

  • 14 oz firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture thoroughly. Slice it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. Blend soy sauce and cornstarch in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Toss the tofu cubes in the soy-cornstarch mixture until coated.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat and add the tofu cubes.
  5. Fry the tofu until golden brown, turning occasionally for even cooking.
  6. Combine maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and salt and pepper in a bowl to make the sauce.
  7. Pour the sauce into the pan with tofu and toss gently. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce reduces and becomes sticky.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

For best results, press tofu before cooking and avoid overcrowding the pan. Customize with your favorite vegetables.
