Description

A delicious and crispy Thai fried chicken sandwich that will elevate your lunch experience with its unique flavors.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • Thai chili sauce
  • Fresh cilantro leaves
  • Pickled cucumbers

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat in the flour mixture.
  5. Fry the chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  6. Drain on paper towels and let cool slightly.
  7. Assemble the sandwich by placing the fried chicken on a bun, adding Thai chili sauce, cilantro, and pickled cucumbers.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double-dip the chicken in buttermilk and flour mixture.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
  • Can substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts if preferred.
