Description

Crusty Mini Baguettes are delightful, small loaves of bread that are perfect for snacking or serving with meals. Their crispy crust and soft interior make them a favorite among bread lovers.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into small pieces to shape into mini baguettes.
  6. Place the shaped baguettes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  9. Make slashes on top of the baguettes and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let them cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

  • For a more crusty texture, place a pan of water in the oven while baking.
  • These baguettes can be frozen for later use.
  • Experiment with adding herbs or cheese to the dough for different flavors.
