Description

A delicious and easy-to-make honey garlic tofu recipe that is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut the pressed tofu into cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and olive oil.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the tofu cubes.
  4. Cook the tofu until golden brown on all sides.
  5. In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  6. Add the honey garlic mixture to the skillet with the tofu and stir well.
  7. Pour the cornstarch slurry into the skillet and cook until the sauce thickens.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  9. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, substitute honey with maple syrup.
  • Make sure to press the tofu well to remove excess moisture.
  • This dish can be served with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
