- 1 block firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the pressed tofu into cubes.
- In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and olive oil.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the tofu cubes.
- Cook the tofu until golden brown on all sides.
- In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
- Add the honey garlic mixture to the skillet with the tofu and stir well.
- Pour the cornstarch slurry into the skillet and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
- Serve hot with rice or noodles.
Notes
- For a vegan version, substitute honey with maple syrup.
- Make sure to press the tofu well to remove excess moisture.
- This dish can be served with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
