Description

A delicious sandwich featuring crispy fried chicken tenders, vibrant romaine lettuce, crunchy dill pickles, and Alabama white BBQ sauce on a toasted hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 crispy fried chicken tenders
  • 3 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles plus a few splashes of brine
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
  • 4 hoagie rolls (soft sesame hoagies preferred)
  • 4 tablespoons butter (for toasting rolls)
  • 1 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons creamy horseradish
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or less, depending on your heat preference)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Whisk together all Alabama white BBQ sauce ingredients and adjust seasoning as desired.
  2. Prepare the chicken by warming the crispy chicken tenders until hot.
  3. Toast the hoagie rolls on a skillet with butter until golden.
  4. Chop the chopped romaine, dill pickles, sliced onion, and warm chicken together.
  5. Mix the Alabama white BBQ sauce with the chopped mixture until well coated.
  6. Assemble the sandwich by filling the toasted rolls with the mixture and adding extra sauce if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Make the Alabama white BBQ sauce a day ahead for better flavor; consider using grilled chicken for a lighter option.
