Description
A warm and comforting breakfast quesadilla filled with sweet apples, fragrant cinnamon, and your choice of creamy cheese, perfect for any morning.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 medium apples (peeled, diced)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 2 medium flour tortillas (8-inch)
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese or 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Prepare your apples: Begin by peeling the apples and dicing them into equal-sized pieces.
- Sauté the filling: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, ground cinnamon, and maple syrup. Stir gently, cooking for around 6–8 minutes until the apples soften and become fragrant.
- Spread the cheese: Take one half of a tortilla and spread cream cheese or sprinkle shredded cheese over it.
- Assemble: Spoon the sautéed apple mixture generously over the cream cheese or cheddar.
- Fold and toast: Carefully fold the tortilla in half, sealing in all that delicious filling. In a clean skillet, melt another bit of butter, then toast each side for about 2–3 minutes until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
- Slice and serve: Let the quesadilla cool slightly, then slice into wedges. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
You can prep the apple mixture the night before and keep it in the fridge for quick filling in the morning. Consider air frying for a healthier option.
