Description

A comforting bowl of savory broth, tender dumplings, ramen noodles, and vibrant spinach perfect for cozy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 frozen dumplings (pork, chicken, or vegetable)
  • 2 packages instant ramen noodles
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Start with the eggs: Bring a pot of water to a gentle boil. Carefully lower the eggs into the water using a slotted spoon. Cook them for 6 to 7 minutes for that perfect soft-boiled consistency. Once cooked, transfer them to an ice water bath to halt the cooking process. After a few minutes, peel and slice them in half.
  2. Simmer the broth: In a large pot, bring 4 cups of chicken broth to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Stir in 3 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.
  3. Cook the dumplings: Add the frozen dumplings directly into the simmering broth for about 8 to 10 minutes until they are heated through.
  4. Add the noodles: Include your ramen noodles and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until they become tender.
  5. Incorporate the spinach: Gently toss in the fresh spinach leaves, allowing them to wilt for 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Serve and garnish: Divide the noodles, dumplings, and spinach among serving bowls. Ladle the hot broth over each bowl. Finish with halved soft-boiled eggs, sliced green onions, and black sesame seeds.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the broth and dumplings in advance and store them separately. Customize with additional vegetables like mushrooms.
