Description

A low-carb burger featuring a juicy beef patty topped with melted cheese and sweet caramelized onions, offering bold flavors and satisfying textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 fat content)
  • 4 slices cheese (American, cheddar, or gouda)
  • 2 large sweet onions (Vidalia or yellow)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and add a drizzle of oil. Toss in the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown for about 10-15 minutes.
  2. In another skillet, heat oil over medium-high. Form the ground beef into patties, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until crispy, then flip.
  3. Place cheese on top during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  4. Assemble the burger by placing the patty on a plate and topping it with caramelized onions.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

You can prepare caramelized onions in advance, storing them in the fridge for up to a week. Try different cheeses or toppings for variety.
