- 4 slices cheese (American, cheddar, or gouda)
- 2 large sweet onions (Vidalia or yellow)
- Salt
- Pepper
- 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and add a drizzle of oil. Toss in the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown for about 10-15 minutes.
- In another skillet, heat oil over medium-high. Form the ground beef into patties, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until crispy, then flip.
- Place cheese on top during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Assemble the burger by placing the patty on a plate and topping it with caramelized onions.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
