Description
Delicious low-calorie pizza rolls made with whole wheat dough, filled with low-fat mozzarella and turkey pepperoni. Perfect as a snack or appetizer!
Ingredients
- Whole Wheat Dough
- Lean Turkey Pepperoni
- Low-Fat Mozzarella Cheese
- Italian Seasoning (Optional)
- Olive Oil (for brushing)
- Marinara Sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the whole wheat dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness.
- Cut the dough into small squares, about 3 inches each.
- Place a piece of turkey pepperoni and a small amount of mozzarella cheese in the center of each square.
- Fold the dough over to form a pocket and seal the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with a little olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning if desired.
- Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
Customize the filling with your favorite vegetables or alternative cheeses. Make-ahead options are available by refrigerating the prepared rolls before baking.
