- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup raspberry jam
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Warm the wet ingredients: In a small saucepan, warm the milk and butter until melted, then remove from heat and stir in eggs.
- Combine and knead: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise: Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
- Prepare the filling: Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread raspberry jam over it.
- Form the loaf: Roll the dough tightly and place it into a greased loaf pan.
- Second rise: Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Egg wash and bake: Brush with egg wash and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Cool and enjoy: Allow to cool in the pan before slicing.
