Description

Indulge in these soft, pillowy rolls filled with strawberries and cream cheese, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 packet of instant yeast in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk together 1/2 cup of slightly warm milk, 1/4 cup of melted butter, and 1 egg until smooth in another bowl.
  3. Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until a cohesive dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread a layer of softened cream cheese over the dough, followed by chopped strawberries and a sprinkle of sugar.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from one long edge into a log. Cut the log into rolls, about 1 to 1.5 inches thick.
  7. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk until smooth for the glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Feel free to prepare the dough the night before and refrigerate. If using frozen strawberries, thaw and drain them before use.
